Nickie Community Empowerment and Peace Foundation Uganda (NCEPFU) is a youth-led social impact charity, community – based organisation dedicated to transforming and empowering vulnerable children, women and youth in the last mile communities of Uganda.
We provide educational support, food and clothing relief, emotional healing and counselling, life skills mentorship and vocational training to promote self-reliance and dignity. We also offer Agricultural skills training, literacy programs, community engagement activities and advocacy for the rights and well-being of marginalized groups.
Our programs aim to break cycles of poverty, improve mental and emotional well-being and create sustainable, empowered communities.
NCEPFU is committed to operating with the highest ethical, transparent and accountable standards in all our programs and interactions. Our work is built on a foundation of integrity, compassion and respect for the dignity of every individual we serve. We ensure that all activities are community-cantered, needs
driven and aligned with national and international best practices for humanitarian and development work.
TRANSPARENCY AND ACCOUNTABILITY
We maintain strict financial control and record-keeping systems to ensure responsible use of donor resources. All expenditures are documented, monitored and reviewed by management and relevant committees. We regularly share updates with partners, donors and stakeholders to promote open communication, program activities are monitored and evaluated to ensure effectiveness, impact and value of money.
ETHICAL CONDUCT AND INTEGRITY
Nickie Community Empowerment and Peace Foundation Uganda upholds a zero-tolerance policy for fraud, corruption, discrimination, harassment and any form of exploitation. Staff and volunteers follow a clear code of conduct that emphasizes honest, professionalism, confidentiality and ethical decision making. Our team is trained to safeguard children, vulnerable adults and survivors of trauma, ensuring that all interactions prioritize safety and respect.
INCLUSIVITY AND COMMUNITY OWNERSHIP
We design programs that are inclusive of all vulnerable groups regardless of age, gender, disability, religion ethnicity or social background. Community members participate in planning, implementation, follow-up and feedback to ensure that interventions are relevant and sustainable. This approach builds trust and empowers communities to take ownership of their development.
RESPECT FOR HUMAN RIGHTS AND DIGNITY
Our interventions are guided by a rights-based approach that promotes equality, protection and empowerment. We advocate for the rights of children, women, youth and we actively work to eliminate barriers that limit access to education, safety and economic opportunities.
RESPONSIBITY PROGRAM DELIVERY
The organization prioritizes the safety and well-being of beneficiaries by ensuring that all programs are delivered by trained staff and vetted volunteers. We design activities that are culturally appropriate, trauma-sensitive and responsive to community realities. We partner with local leaders, government bodies, schools and civil society organizations to ensure coordinated and responsible service delivery.
ENVIRONMENTAL AND SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY
We promote sustainable agriculture, environmental awareness and responsible resource use in all our initiatives. Our projects encourage long-term solutions that enhance resilience, reduce dependency and support community development.
CONTINUOUS IMPROVEMENT
NCEPFU monitors its programs, seek feedback and adapt strategies to meet evolving needs. By collaborating with stakeholders, evaluating performance and learning from experience, we ensure that Nickie Community Empowerment and Peace Foundation Uganda remains accountable, ethical and impactful in creating a Better Future for vulnerable communities.
