We are Hollands Associates, a PR and communications consultancy driven by a simple belief: every organisation has a story worth telling, and it deserves to be heard. We help charities, health and social care providers, education bodies, cultural organisations, and lifestyle clients raise their profile, build credibility, and connect with the audiences that matter most.
Our work at Hollands Associates blends strategic public relations with hands-on media relations, thought-leadership positioning, crisis communications, and reputation building. We secure meaningful media coverage, craft award-winning submissions, and open doors to speaking and broadcast opportunities that grow influence and trust.
Alongside this, we deliver high-quality copywriting — from ghostwritten articles and website content to white papers and advertorials — giving our clients the words and visibility to match their impact. Our aim is to make the world more human. One story at a time.
A core part of our social contribution is providing pro bono and low-cost communications support to charities and purpose-driven organisations. Hollands Associates has delivered multiple free crisis communications training sessions for national umbrella bodies representing charities, helping organisations feel more prepared and confident when facing reputational challenges.
We regularly share practical skills with organisations that might not otherwise be able to access professional PR support. This includes delivering an unpaid workshop with a local chamber of commerce on “how to do your own PR” for small businesses, and a two-part session through a national sector body on how charities can secure media coverage. These sessions are designed to demystify public relations and give smaller organisations the confidence and tools to raise their own profile.
Supporting learning and career development is another important strand of our social activity. At Hollands Associates, we give our time freely to education providers, delivering guest lectures and lessons for further and higher education students studying marketing, PR and media. By sharing real-world industry experience, we help bridge the gap between education and employment and support the next generation of communications professionals.
We also contribute to the wider voluntary sector by serving as volunteer judges for national charity awards, helping to recognise and celebrate outstanding work across the sector.
At a local level, we provide hands-on pro bono PR support to a regional health charity. This has included securing media coverage, promoting fundraising initiatives, and creating a video animation free of charge to encourage public support. We also entered the charity into national sector awards at no cost, where it received a “highly commended” recognition. In addition, we supported the fundraising efforts of an individual undertaking a significant endurance challenge in aid of the charity — activity that resulted in BBC television coverage and increased awareness of the cause.
We are proud to support community events, including sponsoring the speakers’ dinner at a local TEDx event as a way of thanking volunteer speakers for the time and expertise they contribute to the community.
Our ethical standards underpin all of this work. We are members of the Chartered Institute of Public Relations (CIPR) and adhere to its professional code of conduct, ensuring integrity, transparency and responsible communications practice. We are also signatories to the UK Prompt Payment Code, demonstrating our commitment to paying suppliers fairly and on time.
Wherever possible, we use local suppliers, including writers, graphic designers and printers. This helps reduce environmental impact linked to travel and transport, while also supporting the local economy and creative community.
As a primarily digital consultancy, Hollands Associates operates with a relatively low environmental footprint. We minimise printing, favour virtual meetings over travel where appropriate, and make considered choices about the suppliers and services we use. We remain committed to reviewing and improving our practices as we grow, ensuring that social value, community contribution and environmental responsibility continue to be part of how we do business every day.
